I had never been to St John prior to moving here.
After having toured Europe again, this time for several months and living there for a few more, I finally made my way back to the States. After a few months, I got the urge to travel again, and while I was planning my next big move, I was told about the Virgin Islands by a friend. I looked it up online and saw what a beautiful place it was and figured, how bad could it be? So I booked my ticket, dragged everything I owned on to the lawn of my apartment, including my car, and had a yard sale. I condensed all of my belongings into a travel backpack and a suit case.
My original plan was to stay for only six months and keep going, but slightly over eight years later, I'm still here. It turns out that it wasn't bad at all. I've been back to Europe a few times since and even lived out there again for a couple more years. This is when I decided to make audio tours for some of my favorite places there, but before long, I found myself back here on St John again. It seems as if paradise keeps calling me back. While making my European tour guides into an iphone application, I decided that it would be a great idea to make one for St John, after all, I've been exploring the island, its hiking trails, beaches and waters for many years.
So here it is. I hope you will find the St John App useful in experiencing and deriving great joy from the many treasures to be found on this small Caribbean island.
